About this pack
80s Drum Kit is built around the toms: 47 stereo WAV files of gated tom fills and tom grooves, a full-kit break, and a bank of snare and kick one-shots to program your own pattern from.
The sound is the big, clipped tom of 80s pop and rock: a reverb tail that is cut off sharply instead of left to decay, so a fill sounds enormous and then stops dead. It is the tom sound most people know from "In the Air Tonight". Nothing here copies that fill, and none of it claims to come from a named vintage drum machine. These are new sound-design samples with that era's character.
How to use them: drop a tom fill into the last bar before a chorus, or loop a gated tom groove under a synth line to push a verse along. For a programmed beat, load the five kicks and the seventeen snare one-shots into a sampler, build the groove, and lay a fill over the top. The phrases are left untrimmed, so audition the timing and trim each one to your grid before you loop it.
Every file is stereo, 47 kHz / 16 bit, with no tempo or key labels we have not checked. The ZIP includes a licence for use in your own music, including commercial releases.

- What BPM are the drum loops?
- Each pack lists its intended tempo range, with a BPM beside each preview. Some files are untrimmed takes rather than exact-bar loops. Audition the timing, trim the start and end, and use your DAW’s warp or time-stretch tools when needed.
- Can I use these in FL Studio, Ableton or Logic?
- Yes. The WAV files work in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro and other DAWs that import WAV. Start at the listed BPM, audition and trim a phrase on the timeline, or load an individual hit into a drum rack or sampler.
