Free Hip Hop Drum Loops

This pack holds 63 hip hop drum loops. Forty-two of them run at 92 BPM: dusty kick and snare pockets, loose breakbeats, clap-led marches, shaker and woodblock figures, and a set of two dozen four-bar grooves with a worn, sampled character. Sixteen more sit at 120 BPM for faster beats: swung hats, papery snares, rimshot patterns, a chopped break and a couple of tight two-bar pockets. The last five fall between 82 and 97 BPM for slower, draggier tracks.

The sound is the one people mean when they say dusty: rounded kicks without much sub, snares that are papery or cracked rather than bright, hats that are dry and slightly tinny, and a layer of surface noise, tape softening or room tail around the hits. Compression is restrained, so the loops keep their swing instead of being flattened. Some patterns sit behind the beat; others push forward with sharper claps and tighter hats. The name of each loop describes its feel, and the line under it says what is in it.

The tempo and bar count describe the intended phrase. Audition the WAV, trim the start and end to a clean musical boundary, and check it against your project grid before looping. Generated timing may need warping; the files are supplied as rendered rather than manually edited loops.

To use them, set the project tempo to the BPM shown by the loop and drag the WAV onto an audio track. In FL Studio it lands on the grid in the Playlist; open it in Slicex if you want to rearrange the hits. In Ableton Live, warp mode locks it to the bar, and Slice to New MIDI Track puts the hits in a Drum Rack. In Logic Pro, import it to a track and use Flex Time if you move the tempo, or load it into Quick Sampler in slice mode. Filtering the top end makes room for vocals; layering a clean kick underneath adds weight without losing the dust.

Every loop here came out of the Tapechild sample generator from a short text prompt at a set tempo. If you need a different pocket, a different tempo or a particular swing, describe it and it renders to order.

The complete download contains 63 WAV files plus a licence and MANIFEST.json. The manifest lists each filename, byte size and SHA-256 checksum. These are AI-generated samples, not recordings of vintage hardware or audio rendered by the UDS-16 plugin.
