Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tapechild LLC, doing business as Tapechild (“Tapechild,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses and protects information when you visit tapechild.com, create an account, purchase or download our software, activate a license, or contact us.
1. Who we are
Tapechild is an independent software developer.

We may collect the following categories of information:
a. Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, account identifier and authentication information.
b. Purchase information
When you purchase a product, we may receive your email address, billing country, order number, product purchased, purchase date, payment status and limited transaction information.
Payments for the western market are processed by Stripe. Tapechild does not receive or store your complete credit-card number.
c. License and activation information
Where a product uses license activation, we may process a license key, product version, operating-system version, activation timestamp, hashed or otherwise limited device identifier, IP address and license status.
We use this information only to deliver the product, validate licenses, prevent fraud, restore purchases and provide customer support.
d. Website information
When you visit our website, our server may automatically receive your IP address, browser type, operating system, requested pages, referring page, timestamps and basic security logs.
e. Support communications
If you contact us, we collect the information contained in your message and any files or diagnostic information you voluntarily provide.
3. Audio, MIDI and project data
Tapechild UDS-16 does not upload your audio, MIDI, DAW projects, presets, rendered output or plugin parameter values to Tapechild.
The software does not use such material for advertising, machine learning or profiling.
If you voluntarily attach a project, preset, recording or crash report to a support message, we process it only to investigate and respond to your request.
4. Telemetry
Tapechild UDS-16 does not include advertising telemetry or behavioral tracking inside the plugin.
Where license validation is required, only the limited activation data described in Section 2(c) is transmitted.
5. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide accounts, downloads and software licenses;
- process and document purchases;
- activate and validate licenses;
- provide updates and customer support;
- detect fraud, abuse and security incidents;
- comply with tax, accounting and legal obligations;
- send service-related messages;
- send marketing messages only where you have requested or consented to them.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for account login, checkout, security, language preferences and basic website operation.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. Optional analytics or advertising cookies are used only where permitted by applicable law and, where required, after consent.
You may control optional cookies through the cookie settings displayed on the website or through your browser settings.
7. Payment processors and service providers
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Tapechild, including:
- payment processors or merchants of record;
- account and authentication providers;
- email-delivery providers;
- hosting and content-delivery providers;
- customer-support providers;
- fraud-prevention and security providers;
- professional advisers where reasonably necessary.
These providers may process information only for their contracted purposes and according to their own legal obligations.
8. Legal disclosures
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, court orders or lawful government requests;
- protect the security and integrity of Tapechild;
- investigate fraud, infringement or abuse;
- protect the rights and safety of Tapechild, our customers or others;
- complete a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
9. Data retention
We retain account and license information for as long as your account or license remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.
Purchase and tax records may be retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law.
Security logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting.
Support correspondence is normally retained for up to three years, unless a longer period is needed for an unresolved dispute or legal obligation.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a portable copy of information;
- withdraw consent;
- opt out of marketing communications;
- lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

11. California residents
California residents may request information about the categories of personal information collected, the purposes for collection, the categories of recipients, and may request access, correction or deletion where applicable.
Tapechild does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
12. EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland
Where European data-protection law applies, our legal bases may include:
- performance of a contract;
- compliance with legal obligations;
- our legitimate interests in security, product delivery, fraud prevention and customer support;
- consent, where consent is legally required.
Information may be processed outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
13. Children
Tapechild products and services are not directed to children under 13, or to a higher minimum age where required by local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent required by law.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our products, service providers or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
